Business Wire highlighted the succesful launch of BlackSky's first demonstration satellite Pathfinder 1 of 25/09/2016. According to Rakesh Narasimhan, BlackSky's Chief Operating Officer, the company will be able to charge $90 per picture and consumers can get it in near real time after ordering it online. The BlackSky constellation aims at providing near real-time images of anywhere on earth in about 90 minutes, with a resolution of 1 meter. The complete fleet, to be deployed by 2020, will feature 60 satellites of about 50 kg each.

Pathfinder-1 was launched aboard a India’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV). Pathfinder-2 will be launched as a piggy-back payload to a US Satellite operated by SpaceX in the next few months
